It’s been a long, strange couple of months, hasn’t it? This Covid-19 virus has really turned the world upside down. We are witnessing history in the making. It’s a strange thought to me. Being housebound and quarantined has its ups and downs. Mostly, my life is still the same. I still get to work in my studio every day and I love being here. The downside is I find I am a little lacking in motivation these days. The crazy long winter and cold spring are starting to bring me down. I need fresh air and sunshine! Add to that, not being able to get out and about, I can’t visit my family or go to church and my favorite stores are closed for shopping, I’m getting the winter blues. In May. Yep. May. It snowed off and on all weekend for Mother’s Day. And today, (really exciting) we had a thunder and hail storm for about 20-25 minutes. I even managed to get a couple of good videos! I’ll just share a picture about half way through the storm. 😉
Needless to say, Mother’s Day was a welcome relief to the usual humdrum that our lives have become. I’m pretty sure I have the best kids on the planet. Every mom thinks that, right?! My 3 girls (My son isn’t much of a cook😂) went all out planning and creating and making the most amazing dinner for Mother’s Day. It was restaurant quality for sure! The main course was salmon and asparagus baked in a zingy sauce served with lemon-ginger jasmine rice. It was so perfectly cooked! Our drink was a super tasty punch with raspberry sherbet. Dessert was out of this world. Chocolate-raspberry decadence with a side of stuffed strawberries. It was heaven on a plate. 💜 All of it was just so scrumptious!
They really made me feel loved.🥰 Everyone gave me cards and gifts telling me how appreciated I am. It was really just the pick-me-up I needed!
I am so very thankful for my family that go out of their way to make me feel loved on this special day. No strange, deadly virus can take that away from us. 💜
