Food for the Soul
Second day of blogging. We're on a roll. 😂 LOL! I actually stink at this kind of stuff because I'm too busy. hahaha! I'm seriously going to work hard at this though. For tonight, just a quick post. My kids need me. 😊 Today was a really good day. Yesterday was not. Yesterday, one of my bestest friends, Jessica came over, at my request, to help with brainstorming an upcoming raffle/fundraiser. It was so good to see her and talk to her. 💜 But crazy as it sounds, just talking about some of the difficult emotions we're facing, is absolutely exhausting. By the time supper rolled around, I was so tired, I didn't even care about life, much less cooking. Randy even offered to get McDonald's, which I really hate, and I told him I didn't care. Our cupboards and fridge were bare and I had no energy left to go find food somewhere. I was just so emotionally drained, there was nothing left in me. It's hard to comprehend. My amazing daughter, Anna, came to the rescue. I was so tired, I couldn't even carry on a nice texting conversation. 😂 But she still volunteered to come cook dinner for us and bring the food. It was amazing! I can't even tell you how amazing it was. It was food for the empty stomachs and food for my soul. Life was good again. 💜 I even managed to carry on a civil conversation. lol.
Today, Randy and I spent the day together replenishing our pantry and fridge, spending all my earnings this week. Oy! Such is life, you earn it, you spend it! We had a really good time together, hunting especially for meringue powder, for royal icing for these epic sugar cookies the girls and I are making this weekend. 6 stores later, we found the last container in the state. Believe me, you can't even order it online because it's sold out everywhere! Crazy! Still fun.😊 Made it home in time to get the kids after school. We raced to package orders for my business in time to get to the post office, then the cookie baking began! 😊
Now it's time to rest. We're all tired. And I'll let you in on a little-known secret.... my kids and I all play Minecraft together. Yep... all of us. It's our family time. Everyone loves it. We all get along. We have so much fun together. It's our downtime. Our fun time. We look forward to every weekend together so we can play Minecraft together. We even got Randy hooked on it about a year ago. But he isn't brave enough to play with the dangerous mobs, so he won't play on our worlds. lol.🤣 But he's here, right with us. And tonight, we will all be playing together, enjoying our time sitting together in the living room, helping each other out on a silly, little game that has kept us close as a family. Luke says I am the Cool Mom.
