Several more years went by with lots of big changes. I opened an online shop on Etsy in 2012, trying to sell a few more little crafts, always pushing for the dream. Business continued to grow and my dream of being a full-time artist grew stronger. The dream of painting for a living became a reality in 2017, after serious back problems kept me from working away from home. My husband and I quickly converted my part time studio into a beautiful, full-time studio! Centered in our beautiful, Victorian home, in the heart of the Finger Lakes in New York State, my Art Studio beckons me every morning. I love waking up each day with the chance to create something new and beautiful in my studio! My dream now is to make a full time living off my art studio without other supporting income.

I have taught many different classes in my studio and at local libraries and other community events. I've done an occasional mural as well. I have worked with a variety of mediums over the last few years, but oil paints called to me from my past and I began working in earnest with them again. How I love the rich tones and bright colors of oils! The canvas just comes alive. I'm always looking for photos to paint that depict a calm serenity, or have something in them that stands out. Currently, I've been focusing on realistic flowers on a black background and these have really become my passion! I have done many custom paintings as well. At the same time, I have been experimenting with different watercolors and brushes until I found a combination I love using! My Mandala stones have become a huge part of my life and business. I have a deep obsession with round rocks and have collected them since a child. Now, I make them come alive with acrylic colors and they have become a big part of my income. I still create a wide variety of artforms that you can find on my Etsy shop or locally in my Gift Shop.

Born in DesMoines, Iowa, I mostly grew up in New York. (NOT the big city!) I have lived in Central New York for the last 20 years, currently residing in Interlaken. I was naturally artistic even as a child. When I was 16, my parents bought me a set of Prismacolor pencils (which I still own!) and at the age of 17, took some evening adult, oil painting classes while I was a junior in highschool. I was selling my art as a senior! My dream, then, was to own my own art studio someday.

Over the next decade, I began working with acrylics as well, learned some tole painting techniques and continued to teach myself. Marriage, moving around a lot, and four kids left very little time for painting! By 35, I opened a small gift shop and started selling some crafts and custom painted furniture in my spare time. Even managed to get a painting done here and there.
